Joel Rifkin v.s. The Sea Side Slayer....Both Serial Killers

In The Daily News Joel Rifkin got all the publicity anyone could ask for. Over the course of 4-years Rifkin killed 17 prostitutes. In his interview with the daily news he boasted about his special tactics used to keep his killing ways a secret. He claimed the new serial killer who still remains anonymous is stupid. The new serial killer who arose a few days ago is responsible for the killing of  four bodies found at Gilgo beach in Long island. It is believed that because all bodies were found in one place, there is one person responsible for these horrible acts. Rifkin claimed he was smart because he dumped bodies miles apart from his Long Island home, as far as upstate. Is this another Rifkin despite his mistakes as Rifkin calls them, or is there a secret story behind it all?

In the New York Times they said the four bodies were found spread out about 500 feet apart. There were four woman. The Times claimed that they were looking into specific things that might relate to previous crimes. Examples of this are specific positions the women were left in, markings such as a cut or bruise or writing, anything that could distinguish and alert people of a possible suspect. The Investigators were having trouble finding evidence from the bodies cause some of them were there as far back as two years.

Hannah Montana's Career Up in Smoke

Miley Cyrus best known as the star in her show Hannah Montana, was caught smoking a drug called salvia through a bong. Although she just turned 18 years old a month ago, and salvia is legal in California she was still caught smoking. As a role model for small children this was not a good image.

Many would say Miley is looked down upon because she is not only a role model for her kid fans but a famous person. which kid wouldn't want to be on TV. In the same light many 18 year olds do drugs, both legally and illegally. They are not frowned upon because they are not famous. Its not like she did anything illegal. If she wasn't famous no one would ever know she did it. Its just the word famous that makes her look bad. Miley is growing up she may have made a bad choice for her image but there are consequences for her actions. I'm almost positive she may have lost fans but she is human, people make mistakes.

Gay Bashing

In Queens County a 50-year old man, Jack Price, was attacked wen leaving a deli in College Point. He suffered two collapsed lungs, a broken jaw, broken ribs, and a lacerated spleen. His attacker, Daniel Aleman and Daniel Rodriguez  voiced how sorry they were and their excuse being, they were drunk. They had no idea what they did.
When Rodriguez and Aleman voiced how sorry they were I didn't believe one word of it. I'm a very open person when it comes to sexuality. I would hate for someone to tell me who I wanna be with isn't right because of a one sided society. They shouldn't be treated differently from anyone else. Although I am straight, that's my choice and its not my place to tell anyone right from wrong. In my opinion people do tend to say and do a lot of dumb things when they are influence. But many would say and agree that everything said and done there is a little truth behind it. Both Rodriguez and Aleman, if they weren't under the influence, probably wouldn't have act this way, but some sort of hatred still probably laid behind it all when they saw Jack Price.

Choosing A Pet

I've been thinking about getting a dog but i just complete and totally unsure on what type of dog I should get. The only thing I'm sure of is that i want small dog that weights under 10-15 pounds. I don't think i can handle anything bigger than that. In addition I love small dogs they are easier to car for and I think they make way better house pets than bigger dogs. No offense to big dogs i just prefer small. There are a few types of dogs that come to mind.
1) My number one pick was a pure bred Maltese. They are small, beautiful, playful, white, and fluffy. It was inspired by my sisters dog who is also a Maltese.

2) My second choice was the mix breed of the Maltese and the Poodle breed of dog. I liked this dog a lot because its fur is slightly curlier than the pure bred Maltese. The Maltese is generally white. A Maltipoo comes in a few more colors.

3) This next dog is almost as small as my foot. If not it is definitely smaller. They are generally black and don't weight more than about 7 ponds. Their colors are anywhere from a blue, to black, or brown. Many consider them to be toy dogs because of their size. They are playful, very sassy, and filled with attitude. Their names vary but people call them Teacup Yorkie, Terrier, or York-shire Terrier.

In the end all these dogs somehow catch my attention. They are unique and beautiful.
Hopefully one day I can make one my own pet. Which dog would you get?

Setting Goals

Earlier in my blog I spoke about making New Years Resolutions, but I never spoke about making goals and the difference between the two. From my point a view, resolutions are meant to be broken because half the time standards are set too high or are not reasonable enough to be accomplished. For example, a smokers resolution might be to quit smoking before the New Year has rung in. In reality many people know smokers do not quit cold turkey, even though there's a handful that may be able to do so. This is where goals come into play and how they are different. To me, goals are like miniature resolutions. The standards aren't as high so they are much easier to take on and accomplish. This success could also be a step to making bigger goals if they are accomplished. In this case if a smoker set a goal, he or she might set it so that they may actually achieve their success. For example he or she might put limitations on the amount they smoke or cut down to a certain amount over a certain period of time. This allows room for change or a process. Its more convenient too because once one goal is achieved another one may be set. Eventually you may reach the point where you originally wanted to be but in smaller steps. When your goal is finally achieved, it may have happened faster than if you had mad a resolution. In conclusion you have to crawl before you can walk, and you have to walk before you can run.

Piercings

Piercings can be found almost anywhere and everywhere you go. My ideas on piercing are very open because I used to have a few of my own. At one point I was very into piercings but as I got older I lost interest. For example I got tired of losing and having to replace the same pieces of jewelry. Just how I got tired of the jewelry I eventually got tired of the piercings. When I thought about it I didn't even have a reason why I got them. They were just there and a way for me to spend my money I guess. One thing with piercings is that I have limitations. I would never put piercings on my face. Not because I don't like it I just know I wouldn't want to have a permanent scar on my face if I decide to change my mind about a piercing. For people who do have facial piercings its not an issue to me. I find many of them very nice while others not so much. But unlike me I hope when people get piercing they think about the reason why and hopefully its a good reason.

Teenage Drinking

Many people before they even hit the age of 21 they have had there first drink or drinks for that matter.A lot of time they are introduced to it through partying, friends, and most of the time in there own home. From personal experience I know many parents think or believe one drink under parental guidance can't be harmful but many don't realize it could be a start to something even greater.Meaning it starts out as just one but can turn into many. As a High School student I know many students come to school drunk, and from classrooms to hallways you can sometimes find an empty alcohol bottle. This is just the start to the problems that teenage drinking causes. Another is being a teen driver, this comes with responsibilities, which many teens know nothing about. Not only are they intoxicated they get behind the wheels of cars causing many of the accidents that take place on the roads today. In addition to this it becomes a health issue.Sometimes even expectant teen mothers turn to alcohol not realizing the consequences for both themselves and the life they are responsible for. In closing, Alcohol isn't good for adults much less kids. Therefore before you take a swizz think about the people around you and the consequences your actions may have on their life as well as your own.

American Girl Dolls

Coming home from swimming last night I was asked to write a blog about American Girl which is known for their dolls which come with a book on their life store. The question aroused, are they Racist? American dolls are dolls that represent Americans in different Eras. For example during the world war, the depression, and slavery. The idea for this blog came about when my sister had intentions to buy an American doll for my niece for Christmas.

Seeing that were from an African American background my sister preferred a black or fare skinned doll. They only had one doll of this kind. A doll named Addy. This doll was based off of the era where African Americans went through slavery. The doll is a slave her accessories are pots and pans, she has a voodoo doll for a toy, and her bed is a wood post bed. Although this may seem normal it is the only fare skinned doll made by American Girl. In addition other dolls have brushes, skates, horses, skates, and combs for accessories, their beds are also canopy beds. Weather American girl is racist or not is a big question. Could it just be coincidence or is there an even bigger story behind their one slave doll.

New Years Resolutions

As the year comes to a closing everyone is getting ready for the holiday seasons weather it be Christmas, Kwanzaa, Hanukkah, or New Years. On New Years a lot of festive events take place. Some people have parties while others gather in Time Square to watch the ball drop, some people just stay home and join the countdown on Tv and drink champaign.Whatever the case may be, with New Years just weeks away all you hear around you and see on social networks are people making New Years Resolutions. What is a resolution? Why do people make them if they hardly ever follow through with them?As a human being I remember making many New Years resolutions for as far back as I can remember.Although I made them they never really meant much because I never actually followed through with them. With this said the question still remains....WHY MAKE A RESOLUTION IF YOU HAVE NO INTENTIONS OF FOLLOWING THROUGH WITH IT?

MUSIC

When it comes to music I have a very open mind.I can listen to anything as long as it has a rhythm that catches my definition of a great beat. Although I rather rap, R&B and sometimes even pop; weather its rap, rock, or R&B, if I like it I will be listening to it.When I listen to a song I often feel a connection through my mind, body and soul that either makes me think, sing, or dance. You can pretty much say it challenges my mind. Not every time I hear a song there will be a positive response but in the end I somehow find a way to relate to the song.If its a sad song I may cry and a hype song I may dance.Sometimes the song can tell exactly how Im feeling on any particular day, as if it was made just for me. But some how it defines who I am.Through music you can find belonging, understanding, expression, and a culture which you may have never knew existed. A way that connects and separates you in a unique way. To listen is just the basics to music, but to understand and express is a whole other story. A story which many cannot read.
